Eastern Naval Command advises promoted officers

The Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command, Rear Admiral David Adeniran, has urged newly decorated senior officers of the Eastern Naval Command to be more dedicated and hardworking in the performance of assigned responsibilities.

Adeniran made this remarks recently during the decoration ceremony of the senior officers at the Eastern Naval Command Officers’ Mess Calabar, as he reiterated that: “to him whom much is given, much is expected.”

Addressing the newly decorated officers, Adeniran said that officers’ responsibilities grew as they got higher in rank in the Service, thereby requiring them to braze up to the expectation of their respective new ranks.

Eight officers who were decorated with their new ranks include Commodore Cajethan Aniaku, Captain Suleiman Mohammed, Captain Suleiman Abdulllahi, Surgeon Captain Uche Okeke, and Surgeon Captain Ugochi Nzeribe-Abangwu. Others are, Surgeon Commander Kabir Salami, Surgeon Commander Ido Akpan and Commander Emmanuel Akinyemi.

Responding, the most senior decorated officer, Commodore Aniaku, representing the group, thanked the President, Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, for deeming them fit to be promoted to the next higher rank.

Aniaku also thanked the Navy Board, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Flag Officer Commanding Eastern Naval Command and other distinguished senior officers to have found them worthy of their new ranks.

He promised to make the Nigerian Navy proud, and by extension, the Country at large, in the performance of their respective assigned higher responsibilities.
